WHAT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE SPECIALIST?
The speech-language specialist has expertise in evaluating a child for speech disorders (articulation, phonology, fluency, and voice) and language disorders (in the areas of morphology, syntax, semantics and/or pragmatics/discourse) which adversely affect a student’s educational performance. The speech-language specialist provides speech services to students who are eligible under the two classifications: Eligible for special education and related services, and Eligible for speech-language services.
